Welcome to First Steps Lacrosse - Westminster, md

First Steps Lacrosse is an engaging youth lacrosse program focused on developing physical literacy in youth through the sport of lacrosse. Our caring and experienced team developed First Steps Lacrosse to positively impact kids through fun, imaginative games and lessons.

The First Steps Lacrosse curriculum focuses on the development of physical literacy through age-appropriate games. Physical Literacy is the movements and skills needed to play sports and lead an active and healthy life. Learning these skills opens the door not only to lacrosse but other game and sports down the road. Creating positive attitudes towards physical activity early in a child's development can change their life!

Our Westminster program will be kick off it's inaugural season of First Steps Lacrosse on Saturday, March 24, 2018!

Meet Our First Steps Lacrosse Program Coordinator!

Frank McGuire

Westminster, Community Coordinator
(410) 458-6541

Frank lives in Westminster with his wife Marie and has two children. As a father of two (16 yr. old son & 20 yr. old daughter), he knows the importance of introducing young children to physical fitness and activities. Frank has coached youth lacrosse in Carroll County for the past 13 years. He has coached beginner through high school level players and has developed a passion for the game.

In addition to lacrosse, he has also coached youth basketball and baseball. Sports have always been a big part of Frank’s life growing up playing baseball, basketball and football. At five years old his daughter brought a lacrosse flyer home from school, and two years later he was coaching her team which began his love for the game. Now that girl that introduced lacrosse to his family plays in college, and his son is getting ready to begin his second year of high school lacrosse.

Frank loves introducing lacrosse to children and wants to spread this great game to as many communities as possible. First Steps Lacrosse is the perfect program for Frank to combine his passion for the sport of lacrosse and the importance of physical literacy for children.
